පෘථිවියට අලුත් සඳක් පායා ඒමට නියමිතය. අප දෙසට ගමන් කරන, ග්‍රාහකයට අත්වෙන අසාමාන්‍ය ඉරණම හේතුවෙන් මේ ආකාරයට අලුත් සඳක් නිර්මාණය වෙනවා ඇත. වෙනදාට මේ ආකාරයේ ග්‍රාහකයක්, වායුගෝලයට අැතුළුවුවහොත්, එය කඩාගෙන වැටෙන්නේය. එසේ නැතිනම් වායුගෝලය ඇතුළේම අළුදුලී බවට පත් වන්නේය. පී.ටී. පහ ලෙස නම් කරන ලද මේ ග්‍රාහකය, පෘථිවි කක්ෂයේ සිරවී සිටීම හේතුවෙන්, එය කුඩා සඳක් බවට පත් වීමට නියමිතය. අලුත් සඳ පෘථිවියේ ගුරුත්වාකර්ෂණ ග්‍රහණය තුළ රැඳී සිටින්නේ මාස දෙකක් වැනි කෙටි කාලයකි.

ගිනියම්වන ඇඟලුම් අවුල

ආසියාවේ නැඟීම රෙදිපිළි කර්මාන්තය සමග එක්ව ඇති බව පෙනී යයි. මෙම ක්‍රියාවලියේ බංගලිදේශය වඩාත් ඉදිරියෙන් සිටි බව ලෝකයම දන්නා කරුණකි. දකුණු කොරියානු සමාගමක් සමඟ හවුල් ව්‍යාපාරයක් ලෙස 1978 දී එහි ප්‍රථම අපනයන ඇඟලුම් කම්හල ගොඩනැගීමෙන් පසු, බංග්ලාදේශය සිය ආර්ථිකය ඇඳුම් අපනයනය කිරීමේ බලාගාරයක් බවට පත් කර තිබිණි. පසුගිය වසරේ බංග්ලාදේශය ඩොලර් බිලියන 54 ක් වටිනා ඇඟලුම් අපනයනය කළ අතර එරට ඇඟලුම් අපනයනය දෙවැනි වන්නේ චීනයට පමණි. එහෙත් අගෝස්තු 05 ඇතිවූ අරගලයෙන් පසුව සිදුවන්නේ කුමක්ද? දැනටමත් එරට ඇඟලුම් කර්මාන්තශාලා 200කට වඩා වසා දමා ඇත. අරගලයෙන් ලැබූ ජය මෙයද? මේ වසරේ සමස්ත ඇඟලුම් අපනයන 10-20% කින් පහත වැටෙනු ඇති බව දැනටමත් පුරෝකථනය කර තිබේ. එයින් සිදුවන්නේ රටේ අරාජිකත්වය වැඩිවීම පමණකි. බංග්ලාදේශයේ ඇති වූ නොසන්සුන්තාව හේතුවෙන් ඩොලර් මිලියන 54ක් වටිනා නව ඇණවුම් උපයා ගත් බව ඉන්දියානු ඇඟලුම් ආයතන ප්‍රකාශ කර තිබිණි. පාලකයා වෙනස් කිරීමෙන් ලබන ජය කෙසේ වෙතත් රෙදිපිළි කර්මාන්තය බිඳවැටීමෙන් ඩකා ආණ්ඩුව ලබන්නේ පරාජයකි.

Easter Sunday carnage: Vital aspect ignored

Former Justice Minister Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, who is running for President, has dropped a bombshell. Taking part in a Sirasa TV programme, the other day, he hinted at the possibility of some world powers having had a hand in the Easter Sunday terror attacks, which snuffed out about 270 lives and left more than 500 others injured, in 2019. He said he had opposed the handing over of the strategically important Hambantota Port to China, in 2017, and warned the Yahapalana Cabinet that another world power would seek to take control of the Trincomalee harbour, the oil tank farm near it, and the Colombo Port, and if Sri Lanka did not grant those demands, it would be plunged into a bloodbath and forced into submission.
